“I Lost My Family, Now Fighting to Stay Alive” —Survivor of Magodo Building Collapse Cries for Help

Mr. Emmanuel Otache lost his pregnant wife and three children when a building—reportedly owned by footballer Fatai Abiodun—collapsed on his rented apartment in the Magodo area of Lagos. He was the only survivor. After spending over seven months in a coma and undergoing multiple surgeries, he now lives in constant, unbearable pain.

The metal implants in his body, inserted five years ago, have expired—and are now causing more harm than good. Today, Otache is homeless, without income, and in desperate need of another surgery to remove the expired metal implants—but he has no means to afford it. In this heart-wrenching interview with Deji Lambo (aka Oga Journalist), he shares his pain and pleads for support from kind-hearted Nigerians.
